Canicross Ireland Fun Day

Join us on September the 11th in Corkagh Park for a day of fun and games, brought to you by Canicross Ireland!

We’ll be camping in the Camac Valley caravan Park the night before and having a BBQ for anyone staying there along with a night time run with the dogs.
We’ve booked the bike track for a couple of hours so that we can do lots of canicross, bikejoring and scootering demo’s and there will be lots of chances for people to have a go
with their own dog with some of our fab equipment under the guidance of club members.

Join us for our group dog walk in the morning followed by a picnic, k9 olympics and fun dog show with some great prizes to be won.

We’re also gonna have a fun dog show with the brilliant Pete the Vet judging, doglympics, a talk around kids & dogs safety (the MADRAí Programme) and much more including (hopefully!) food vendors, dog food stalls and a number of other things too.

Our event is being updated constantly as we are finding new and exciting activities for everyone, so make sure you pop along to the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/317045345298576/

Come along and show your support for Team Ireland who will be heading off to the Czech republic in October for the European Canicross Championships too!!!!

Hope to see some of you there!!! 🙂

Santa Run in aid of Irish Dogs for the Disabled

Canicross Ireland and the Irish Federation of Sleddog Sports in association with James Wellbeloved invite you and your canine companions to a festive day out in Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, Co. Roscommon in aid of Irish Dogs for the Disabled.
Join us for a Santa Run across all of the dryland mushing disciplines. Bikejore, scooter and rigs along with a 5K Canicross race and a 5K or 3K walk. Full Santa outfit is optional, but something Christmassy must be worn, with prizes for the best dressed teams.

After the Santa Run we will go to the cafe in the visitors centre for late breakfast/lunch, and will be holding a raffle in aid of Irish Dogs for the Disabled. Any prizes will be gratefully received. We will also be holding a Secret Santa Paws. If you would like your dog to participate, please bring a wrapped gift suitable for a dog, maximum spend of €10. If you have more than one dog, you may buy as many presents as you would like, and will get the same amount back.

Entry to the Santa Run will be €10, which will give access to as many classes as you like, or are able to run. All entrants will receive a Goody bag. If you wish to walk as a family, that will be €10 per family group, not per person.

Please come along and make this fun event a success. Bring the family, Lough Key has lots of fun activities for kids of all ages. Burn off some calories just before the big day, so that you can enjoy your turkey and Christmas pudding guilt free

The ECF European championships are being held in Blairgowrie, Scotland from 8th-11th October 2015.
